The work was revised twice, twice he told me to reread the manuscript, written in a very peculiar way: as I mentioned earlier, much has been written in reverse order. Dictation was given such a strange way, that sometimes I almost could not imagine what was going on or what is said. Once I painted over a hundred pages in reverse order, that is, the latest proposals were at the beginning of the text, and the dictation itself was in such a fast pace and so confused that I have not caught any sense. This part of the manuscript Philos told me to burn it, not reading. I did so, and to this day I have no idea about what was contained in those pages, and why he wanted to destroy them. A Philos never told me about it. My work on the book was completed in 1886, and before you think about the publication, I gave it to proofreader to correct any errors that may have been committed by me.

In 1883-84 years under the shadow of the carrier peak inspiration Shasta author began to dictate to me, curiously, was primarily dictated by the initial chapter of the second book. Other chapters, like leading up to it, and follow-up, dictated at intervals of weeks or even months, sometimes for one or two pages, but it sometimes happened that a few hours, I use up to eighty. My mentor would wake me up at night, and I wrote in the lamplight, and sometimes in the dark. In 1886, the main job, as I recall, has ended. Then he told me to edit written and directed by me myself, and this work has been as unusual as the previous one. It seemed that he thought the whole novel before he began to dictate, order parts and did not have its value, as long as they were transmitted. If I was a psychic in the sense that, as far as I know, usually put in the word spiritualist, a letter would be automatic and I would not have to clothe his narrative in his own words, and in this case we would need no editorial work. But I’m always aware of everything that happens, just like any stenographer, with the only difference from this kind of secretaries that did not own shorthand …

The author is different from what ordinary mortals, and how, through some occult way he was able to give dictation – the revelation is likely to be understood by careful reading of his great chronicle, passed in this book – his personal history.

I obeyed the insistence of a parent and told her – and for me it was such – the divine mystery. To my relief it did not cause derision, but after I set out at length all the parents, they also expressed a desire to hear the mysterious stranger. To this he had not given his consent, but allowed me to pass his words, treatment and stories, and soon I was so ponatorel in this, that he could repeat his words with almost the same speed with which he spoke. Thus was formed a circle, Philos was our teacher, and I, my parents and U. S. Mallory (now he lives in Cleveland) – listeners. Later we were joined by Mrs. S. Pritchard and Mrs. JP Churchill. Everything was happening in the city, Irek (California) in the early eighties, the book was launched in 1883-84, respectively, over the same in Santa Barbara in 1886. So there was this manuscript on the author’s name.

In our time of doubt, materialism, rampant secularism need all my courage, which I expressly declare that the book “Citizen of the two planets” – a revelation, and not myself, I think its author, but also a wonderful character, if readers want to consider it as such , an adept who knows the innermost secrets of the universe, which become more clear after reading his story. These are the facts. The book was given as a revelation to me – a boy and this boy, whose parents were woefully lenient to such an extent that he was on, for the most part, given the right to do anything. I feel mentally and spiritually just a chess piece in comparison with the author of this work, affecting the deep, rich, outrageous questions presented in the following pages. I myself had read and studied writing with great interest and practical benefit, and I think all readers will find much to themselves. At the same time I felt no sense of natural pride, which could have such a book author, but I knew that this work is unconditional love, which will help improve the world striving upward, always searching for more light, and quench the thirst of knowledge of the great mysteries of life and constantly evolving soul through Him who said: “I am the way, Follow Me.”

My father, a famous physician, died two years ago, was survived by his mother. Both are daily witnessed most of the facts and circumstances of my life while writing this book. But then it did not get, I’m not going to ascribe to them or myself the work. My task was limited to simply write it down.

With the permission of the author, whose letter addressed to me, follows this introduction, and to satisfy, as far as I can, the natural curiosity of every sincere aspirant mind, I would like to summarize basic facts about all the above in that, even for myself , an amazing book.

I – the only son of Dr. Oliver and Mrs. Oliver, a long time living in California. I was born in Washington, DC, in 1866, and two years later moved with his parents in California. Before making my decision to write this book in 1884, my education was relatively limited and almost did not apply to items contained in it.
